Wagner Automotive – A company with a long history

1879

Formation under the name “Gebrüder Luck” (Luck Brothers) in Suhl in Thüringen. (manufacture of hunting rifles)

1919

End of gun production. Richard Luck and his son-in-law Ludwig Wagner start with the production of bicycle parts (pedals & hubs). The company is now called “Luck & Wagner”

1945

Russian soldiers strip the company of all valuable equipment

1947

The communist government of East Germany nationalizes all private companies

1948

Ludwig and Joachim Wagner reestablish Wagner & Co. in Fulda

1961

Joachim Wagner takes over the company’s management

1963

The company starts producing parts for the German automotive industry (Volkswagen)

1985

Dr. Stephan Wagner takes over the company’s management after the death of Joachim Wagner

1995

New toolmaking department

1996

Wagner withdraws from the bicycle parts industry

1998

Quality certification QS 9000

1999

First multi-spindle turning lathe installed

2002

New workshops for education and maintenance

2005

Expansion of production area into the “Glass Factory” on the Frankfurter Strasse

2006

Multi spindle division expands into a new building on 2.000 m²

2007

Wagner & Co receives the Q-1 award from Ford

2011

Further growth of multi spindle turning area with a new building of 3000 m²
